Heat tape
heat-resistant tapes — not electric heat-trace cable

This page covers heat-resistant tapes: sublimation / heat transfer tape and glass-cloth or foil wrapping tapes.
Looking for pipe heat tape (electric heat cable)? We do not manufacture it — we supply the foil and glass-cloth tapes used with it.

Which heat tape is this?

Heat tape: two meanings, and what AeroTape supplies

“Heat tape” means two different products. (1) Heat-resistant tape—tapes that hold up in heat presses, ovens, and hot pipe wrapping. That is what a tape factory makes, and what this page covers. (2) Electric heat-trace cable—a powered cable for pipe freeze protection. AeroTape does not manufacture electric heat-trace cable.

For pipe freeze protection projects, we supply the aluminum foil tape and glass-cloth tape installers use to wrap and secure heat cable. For electronics and PCB masking, see Kapton / polyimide tape. We do not publish temperature ratings; share your process temperature and dwell on the RFQ and specs are confirmed on request. Mixed orders go through tape wholesale.

Pipe heat tape

Pipe heat tape: what we supply (and what we don’t)

Most searches for pipe heat tape are looking for electric heat cable (heat-trace cable) that plugs in to keep water pipes from freezing. AeroTape does not manufacture electric heat-trace cable, and this page does not sell it.

What we do supply are the tapes used alongside it: aluminum foil tape to hold heat cable against the pipe and wrap the run, glass-cloth (fiberglass) tape for woven high-heat wrapping and fixing, and foil tape to seal pipe insulation seams over the cable. Plumbing and HVAC distributors and heat-cable brands can add these tapes to the same PO.

Always follow the cable manufacturer’s installation instructions on which tapes and wraps to use. We do not publish temperature ratings; share your application on the RFQ and specs are confirmed on request.

Heat Transfer and Sublimation Tape

Holds transfers on mugs, tumblers, and garments in the heat press

Heat-resistant polyester tape for holding sublimation and heat transfer prints in place during pressing. Width, roll length, core, and residue behavior after pressing are quoted and confirmed on sample.

  • • Heat-resistant film carrier
  • • Narrow widths for mugs and tumblers
  • • Residue checked after pressing
  • • Retail packs or bulk cartons

Glass Cloth Tape

High-temperature wrapping and splicing

Glass cloth tape for high-temperature wrapping, splicing, and holding in industrial heat processes. Cloth weight, adhesive, width, and your process temperature go on the RFQ; data sheet on request.

  • • Woven glass cloth carrier
  • • Adhesive family on quote
  • • Process temp stated on brief
  • • Data sheet on request

Foil Wrapping Tape for Heat Cable

Aluminum foil tape used with pipe heat cable

Aluminum foil tape that installers use to wrap and secure electric heat cable on pipes for freeze protection. We supply the tape, not the cable. Foil gauge, adhesive, and width are quoted—see aluminum foil tape for the full range.

  • • Aluminum foil face
  • • Wraps and secures heat cable
  • • We do not supply the cable
  • • Width and gauge on quote

Heat Tape FAQ

What does heat tape mean on this page?

Here “heat tape” means heat-resistant tape: sublimation / heat transfer tape and glass-cloth or foil wrapping tapes. It does not mean electric heat-trace cable for pipes.

Do you sell pipe heat tape (electric heat cable)?

No. When people search for pipe heat tape they usually mean electric heat-trace cable, and AeroTape does not manufacture it. For pipe freeze protection we supply the aluminum foil tape and glass-cloth tape used to wrap and secure the cable and insulation—see pipe heat tape above.

Which tapes are used with pipe heat tape?

Installers typically use aluminum foil tape to hold heat cable against the pipe and spread contact, glass-cloth tape where a woven high-heat wrap is wanted, and foil tape again to close the seams of pipe insulation. Follow the heat cable maker’s installation instructions for which tapes they allow; we quote the tapes, not the cable.

What temperature can your heat-resistant tape handle?

It depends on carrier, adhesive, and dwell time, so we do not publish a single rating. Share your process temperature and duration on the RFQ and we confirm a matching spec on request.

What is sublimation tape?

Sublimation (heat transfer) tape is a thin heat-resistant film tape that holds a print in place on a mug, tumbler, or garment during heat pressing, then removes cleanly. Residue behavior is confirmed on your process at sample stage.

Heat-resistant tape vs Kapton tape?

Polyimide Kapton tape is the go-to for electronics and PCB masking. Sublimation tape and glass cloth tape cover heat presses and industrial wrapping.

What is the MOQ for wholesale heat-resistant tape?

MOQ is quoted by SKU and depends on construction, width, color, and packing. Heat-resistant tape can share a PO with other specialty rolls—start from tape wholesale or the inquiry form.
