Aluminum tape for duct, insulation, and pipe programs
Aluminum tape—also sold as aluminum foil tape (UK: aluminium)—seals metal ducts and insulation facings when carton packing tape is the wrong film. AeroTape quotes foil face or PE-laminate foil, adhesive family, width, and roll length on the same wholesale path as specialty tape.
Common finished widths 48–100 mm. Foil gauge and adhesive (acrylic for many HVAC lines; rubber when cold tack is specified) sit on the RFQ. Applications
Aluminum tape uses: HVAC, insulation, and pipe wrapping
HVAC ductwork. Aluminum tape seals seams and joints on sheet-metal and flexible ducts and patches small openings. Tell us the duct surface and whether a cold-tack (rubber) or general-purpose (acrylic) adhesive suits your installers.
Insulation. Foil-faced tape closes the joints of foil-faced insulation boards, duct wrap, and PE foam so the facing stays continuous. Match foil construction and width to the facing on the RFQ.
Pipe wrapping. Installers wrap pipes and pipe insulation with aluminum tape and use it to secure electric heat cable for freeze protection. We supply the tape, not the cable—see pipe heat tape. For high-heat glass cloth wrapping, see fiberglass tape.

Is aluminum tape the same as aluminum foil tape?
In most buyer searches, yes: “aluminum tape” usually means a foil-faced tape with a pressure-sensitive adhesive—the same product as aluminum foil tape (UK: aluminium tape; sometimes called silver tape). Silver cloth tape is a foil/cloth laminate variant. All are quoted on this page.
What is aluminum tape used for?
Typical uses: sealing HVAC duct seams, taping insulation facing joints, and wrapping pipes and pipe insulation—including securing pipe heat cable (see pipe heat tape). Share temperature and surface (metal, insulation facing, PE foam) on the RFQ so adhesive family matches the line.
Aluminum foil tape vs silver cloth tape?
